Nandina “Heavenly Bamboo” in Snow

Nandina is actually not a bamboo, but a member of the Barberry (Berberidacaeae) family.

Big Evergreen in Snow

Does anyone know what kind of tree this is? I am not good at tree identification – yet. I’m guessing it’s some kind of cedar?

Photo was taken when the snow was still light and sparkly.

Who says there isn’t color in the garden in the winter? This shrub bounced right back from the snow. You’d never know it happened to see it now.

Bird’s eye view

Ella’s framing and composition in her photos makes me think of how birds and other small animals must look at the world.

We call him “The Highlander”

This is Buck. He’s our Giant Schnauzer who is celebrating his first birthday today.
